The Moon and Venus, May 24, 2006. This image of the Moon and Venus rising above Georgian Bay was taken a little over an hour before sunrise. The two are about three and a half degrees apart. The pale light on the shadow side of the Moon is Earthshine. Sunlight reflecting off of the Indian Ocean is making the shadow side bright enough to be seen back here on Earth.
